My senpai and I went to Shiroishi to enjoy the beautiful Sakura blooms. It was my first experience of Hanami (花御) or Flower Viewing.
It was just the two of us since Crystal wasn't feeling well, and the rest had other plans. We took the train and got off at the Funaoka stop. We went up the hill to see the Funaoka Castle Ruins and the view of the Shiroishi River from the Hill. The scenery was so captivating. We took pictures and videos.
On the way up, two men approached us wanting to do a survey. They thought I was Japanese but I was not and could not speak Nihongo for the life of me. I had just arrived in Japan and didn't know Japanese, so my senpai talked to them and answered their questions. They were so surprised because he, a white guy, could speak Nihongo really well. We went down via the famous green cable car.
After lunch, we decided to go back home. The place also started to fill with people anyway. On our way to the station, we met another senpai who was the ALT at my current school. We talked for a bit then bid each other goodbye.
