[JET CHRONICLES] A 30-minute Walk around Michinoku National Park in Kawasaki, Miyagi

It's Golden Week and everyone's away so I decided to visit a beautiful park. This place is called Michinoku National Park. It was quite far from where I live but near enough for me to visit without spending so much.

However since it was a holiday, the buses were few and today, late. This park is just two hours away from my place via bus. I took the bus at 13:00. We had a four-day holiday during the golden week. All the Ayashi JET folks are out of the city (two of them are both in South Korea lol) so I decided to go find the Park I saw on Discover Miyagi IG.

It was so memorable because it was the very first time I left home and went somewhere alone. lol I was very nervous since I have not done it before. Usually, I go with friends and sempais so I'm safe and sure I won't get lost. But, I was feeling so down, upset, and stressed about something that I just had to get out of my apartment or else I'd go crazy.

When my first bus arrived at Akiu Sato Center, I saw some Koi fish decorations for the Kodomo no Hi celebration and there was also a mini performance. The bus to Michinoku Park was late so I decided to stand near the restroom, away from the blaring heat of the sun, but unfortunately, the driver thought there were no passengers so he didn't stop at the bus stop and continued driving away. lol

So I decided to wait for the next bus, which was an hour later. This bus was also late so I finally decided to give up and just go back to Sendai and buy the Velcro I needed for my Bulletin Board. However, while waiting for the Sendai Bus, the bus to Michinoku Park arrived. The driver was saying something Nihongo, which of course I did not understand since he was speaking too fast for my brain to process. I was nodding at what he was saying, and when he asked me, "Daijoubu?" I smiled and said, "Hai! Daijoubu!" even though I was not sure if it was really daijoubu. lol

The driver signaled me to hop on the bus and said, "Suwatte kudasai." So I hurried to an empty seat.

When I arrived at the park, I realized what the driver was telling me. The park was only open until 5pm and when I glanced at my watch, it was already 4:25, which left me around 30 minutes or less to look around lol.

I asked the staff if it was still okay to go inside, and they said ok. They reminded me that I only have 30 minutes and then I'll have to leave. I was giggling to myself since I was walking towards the entrance while everyone else was leaving the park. It was definitely the fastest sightseeing I had ever done.

I promised to go back again next year at an earlier time and when the flowers are in full bloom and not about to die. haha When I got home, I was so tired that as soon as I lay down after having dinner and taking a bath, I fell into a deep slumber.
