Note: This is a 40-50-minute lesson for Beginner learners. 

Student: Knows the phonic sounds and can read CVC words very well; needs guidance when reading longer words; can already express him/herself with simple but broken sentences.


Part 1: Watch the video 'Emotions and Feelings', then ask the student/s how they are today. 


Q: How are you today?

A: Are you happy? sad? excited? worried? calm? angry?

1. Do you think the girl is happy? 

2. How can you tell that she is happy?

3. This boy is sad. How about you? When do you feel sad?

4. This girl is sorry. Was there a time you felt sorry about something? What is it?  

5. Why do you think this boy feels excited?

6. When do you feel excited?

7. What does this face look like?

8. What scares you? What are you afraid of? 

9. Why do you think is the girl shy? 

10. Does he look mad? Can you guess why?

11. What is another word for mad?

12: What makes you angry? 

13. What do you do when you feel sleepy?
