[JET CHRONICLES] A Visit to Kumanonachi Shrine in Natori, Miyagi

My JTE at one of my visit schools told me our school nurse wanted to invite me to her house. This same school nurse also invited me to hang out a few months ago. We had dinner at an Italian restaurant, and, this time, she wanted to cook Filipino food for me.

While we were having lunch I showed her a video I made about my Shiroishi trip with my senpai. So she said she wanted to show me a famous shrine in her city. The picture you can see above is the Kumanonachi Shrine. She said she often goes here to offer a prayer.

We walked up the mountain after her husband parked the car nearby. On the mountain, you'll see a place where you can get a good view of Natori City and the ocean. Next to this is a map of the city.

A few steps away, we saw a very interesting tree. Another tree is connected to it.

There was also a bed of beautiful flowers, and right across it was a big bell. My school nurse's husband taught me how to use it. I am a christian so I prayed to God instead of whoever they prayed to at this shrine.
