One of my colleagues has this tiny pot on his desk.
At first, it has only one tiny and lonely sprout. Then, after a week, more little greens sprouted. I somehow forgot about its existence since I usually only go to my base school for three days (having classes, preparing materials, and planning the English Board usually take most of my time) and two other days at my elementary school visits. So, when I finally got myself some desk warming time, I noticed that the little yellow pot was gone.
I asked the teacher, "Sensei, where is your little pot of plant with a cute bird on it?" He laughed and opened his drawer. "Here..." he said, showing me the empty pot. "The plant died!"
I guess we all got too busy to care for the poor little pot of green inside the teachers' office. Sigh.
