During the first day, there was a program in the morning so I was not able to meet 11-Kappa. But I gave a quick first day orientation, class rules and reiteration of School rules and regulation to the rest of the sections assigned to me this year: 12-Silver, 11Lambda and 11-Sigma (my advisory class).
On the second day, I gave them a diagnostic exam to assess the students' background knowledge about the topics we will be discussing this semester. For my grade 11 students, 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and the World and for grade 12, English for Academic and Professional Purposes.
On the third day, we checked their diagnostic exams, record the raw scores and also the frequency of error for the item analysis.
On the last session for the week, we established the groupings through taking of the Multiple Intelligence Test and also had the election of Officers for my advisory class.
It was a pretty fruitful whole week for us. I'm quite excited (well, as excited as try to be nowadays) to see how these kids will improve in the next weeks.
So far, they were polite and great kids. I haven't quite met a disrespectful and impolite ones just yet.
Or is it too early for me to say so?
Haha. That's what my co-teachers said.
But of course, just like what Johann Wolfgang von Goethe said, “If you treat an individual as he is, he will remain how he is. But if you treat him as if he were what he ought to be and could be, he will become what he ought to be and could be.”
And so I will choose to believe that kids under my care this year will try to learn, improve and be the best version of themselves after this school year.
Tiwala lang! Haha
