One Sunday With Sigma

After so many rescheduled and failed attempts at a get-together, we finally had a chance to have quality time together. Since I've been working my ass off in the afternoon after my classes in the morning to earn more extra money, I decided to just reschedule it for a Sunday. However, I am not sure if that was a good idea because there were a lot of people at the mall since it was a weekend.

Our church service ended early, so I could go to the mall early. I guess, too early. lol. We agreed to meet at around 2pm, and I was already at Mega by 12:30. lmao. So I had lunch while waiting for them and watched Panda Riri's episode on King of Masked Singer. There were no subtitles yet, but I was already laughing so much. haha

Twenty minutes before two in the afternoon, I went out of Wendy's and waited for them in front of the National Book Store.  Of course, being the bibliophile I am, I couldn't stop myself from entering NBS. I was tempted to buy several books at a discounted price, but I am proud of myself. I walked out of the store without buying anything. That is a feat in itself. haha Whooo~

So I asked the kids once more where they were, for it was already past 2pm. Two of them apparently were already in front of NBS and sent me this picture:

I looked around and saw Michael and Ralph laughing. lol. Mariz arrived a few minutes after. They went inside NBS to look around while waiting for the others. I got bored, so I also walked around, literally. Haha. I circled the area just because I could and then received a message from the kids that the rest of them had arrived. So I rushed towards them:

They played hoops trying to beat the highest score and a little car racing (which I would never ever try- I get nervous quickly, maybe because of too much coffee intake?), sang songs as if it's their own concert at the MOA Arena. haha I was looking for a Korean Song, but there was none. lol I do not know that many songs in OPM or American Pop these days (since I listen to melOn more than I listen to Spotify).

After belting out their favorite songs (some fun while some are a bit sentimental- ehem to Ralph feeling the song too much he was singing. lol), we ended the day by treating them to Mang Inasal (I actually did not know Mega has one! It was near Seattle's Best, I think?) But since I had to meet someone else in the evening, I left them there to have fun by themselves.

These kids, yes, have their shortcomings as students, but they never gave me a headache the way some of my previous students did (this year, a few of my youngest kids, Loyalty, had even been called to the guidance office a week after the first day of school lol). This may be because they are already young men and ladies and have already matured compared to when I taught some of them back when they were in Grade 7.

When there were no teachers, they just stayed inside the room and listened to songs or watched tv series. They listen attentively, and they accomplish the tasks given. They were respectful and polite. So going back to Grade 7 this year is a considerable adjustment again for me.

When I told them I'd treat them out, I was not expecting anything in return. I was very happy just seeing them having fun. So when they gave me their letters, I was really touched. Thank you so much for this. I appreciate this a lot and would treasure it. I'd probably go back to reading them when I feel stressed, just like these letters you gave me during Teachers' Day.

Thank you, Sigma~ I wish you all the best in life and I pray I'd see y'all next year wearing your Togas. I'll always be your number one supporter.

Hwaiting in your last year of Senior High School~! You can do it!
